Ems

In Loving Memory

Ems, Roy Walter

February 25, 1939 - November 11, 2025

Ems, Roy Walter 86 passed away peacefully with his three children by his side on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Beloved husband of the late Jacquelyn Ems; loving father of Cindy Ems-Scherrer, Steve Ems and Sherry Goldacker; adoring grandfather to Matthew, Courtney, Danielle (Alex), Whitney (Severin) and Sarah; cherished son of the late Martin and Thresa Ems; dear brother of the late Al (Peggy) Ems; dear brother-in-law of Mary (Don) Boland and the late Pat (Don) Hutchison and Joe (surviving Helen) Kenny. Our dearest uncle, cousin and friend of many.  He is survived by his special friend, Mary Tumminello, with whom he shared 10 loving years.

He was a proud union carpenter and respected construction superintendent whose craftsmanship helped shape the skyline of St. Louis over 50 years–and he was never shy about pointing out the buildings he helped bring to life.  But the monuments he was most proud of weren’t made of steel or stone; they were his three children, who carry forward his legacy of strength, integrity and love.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the incredible Mattis Pointe Assisted Living team whose gentle care, and tireless devotion meant so much to Roy and his children.  Their kindness, support and dedication brought him comfort and dignity, and we are forever grateful.  To the Mattis Pointe residents, your companionship, laughter, and shared moments brought immense joy to Roy over the last year.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Saturday, November 22 from 11:00 am. until Funeral Service time at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are appreciated.

REST IN PEACE.

Condolences
