Mueller, William Joseph

January 8, 1923 - May 14, 2025

Placed into the hands of our Lord, William Joseph Mueller passed from this earthly world on May 14, 2025 at the age of 102

He was born to Genevieve (nee Schmitt) and Anthony Mueller on January 8, 1923. He was the sixth of eventually eight children, five brothers and two sisters.

Bill attended St. Cecila Catholic Grade School and Cleveland High School.

In 1944 Bill enlisted in the United States Navy. Over the years he earned the rank of Quarter Master 2d Class and was assigned to the LST 864 (Nicknamed “Lady Luck”). Spent time in the South Pacific during World War II and was Honorably discharged from the Navy in June 1946.

In 1950 Bill started working for General Electric Company. Worked his way from the shipping dock to Home Appliance Technician, Field Supervisor, Parts Department Manager and retired as Customer Service Manager in 1988 after 38 years with the company.

Over the years he and his family belonged to Holy Family Parish where he was part of the PTA and CYC. In 1975 the family moved to St Gabriel the Archangel Parish. At St. Gabriels’ parish he belonged to several organizations including being an usher collecting and counting money from masses. He belonged to the Holy Name Society where for many years he worked collecting money at the fish fries.

He enjoyed traveling throughout Europe several times, Hawaii, and throughout the United States. Bill also enjoyed repairing appliances and various household repairs and upgrades. He especially enjoyed reflecting and sharing his lifelong experiences.

Bill was the beloved husband of 70 years to the late Rose (Reb). Together they had 5 children Judy, Diane, Ron (Jeannie), Paul (Jeannie) and Rosemary (John).

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, his brothers, his daughter Judy and son Ron.

Bill was a devoted father, Cherished grandfather (a.k.a PawPaw) to Carrie, Kathy, Kim, Jeff, Annie, Amanda, Ashley, Adam, Andrew and Justin. Great Grandfather of Dominic, Jack, Kyle, Shauna, Shane, Cooper, Logan, Lindsay, Luke, Maddy, Izzy, Dreadan, Savannah, Paisley, Aidan, Quinn, Lilly, Noah, Grayson, Annabelle, Teagan and Rhett. Great-Great Grandfather to Bryson, Thea and Dean. He was a devoted Brother, Brother-In-Law, Uncle and Friend who will be sorely missed.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Friday, June 6 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel 6303 Nottingham Ave. 63109 on Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 am. Interment at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
