Burkett, Jr., Floyd

January 1, 1950 - July 23, 2025

Floyd Burkett Jr. 75 of St. Louis, MO passed away at his home on July 23, 2025. He was married to the mother of his beautiful children, Linda for 32 years who preceded him in death. At the age of 17, Floyd answered the call to serve his country and joined the U.S. Army on April 14, 1967, and served in the Vietnam War. Floyd was Honorably discharged on April 13,1970 where he would go on to join the U.S. Army Reserves until 1973. Floyd worked as a machine operator for 41 years at Star Bedding Co. of St. Louis. Upon retirement he devoted most of his time volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. He was also known to enjoy working on and fixing lawn equipment for his neighbors and friends alike. Floyd had many joys in his life from hunting with family in Raymondville, MO to bi-annual camping and fishing trips to Montauk State Park, however his greatest joy was his family.

He was survived by his three children Donald Burkett, Janice (Jon) Brandsasse and Joseph (Ashton) Burkett. His many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jessie Burkett, Sue (Byron) Gann, Elmer Dewain (Jamie) LaChance, Mary LaChance, Roseann (Alden) Gilliland and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Floyd Burkett Sr., Gladys LaChance, Danny Burkett, David Burkett and Brenda Frazier.
