Wayne Henry Crets entered into eternal life on February 17, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on June 5, 1933, to the late Eugene Crets and Theresa Bader, Wayne’s warmth and energy touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Wayne was the devoted husband to the late Joyce (Franke), his beloved companion of 66 wonderful years. Their love was a testament to unwavering commitment and boundless affection. He was the cherished father of Glenn (Patty), David (Kim), and Donna Cox (Mike), and the adored grandfather of Katie (Hugh), Alyssa, Ryan (Katy), Jacob (Elle), Julia (Chris), Matthew (Monica), Mitchell (Emily), and Abbie. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Aria, Theo, Jane, Gerry, and Gemma.
Upon graduating from St. Mary’s High School, Wayne served his country in the US Army for eight years, both in active and reserve duty. During this time, Wayne earned an associate’s degree in architecture from Washington University. His professional journey at Monsanto spanned over 40 devoted years, where he made significant contributions in plant engineering and operations.
Wayne was an avid and highly skilled golfer, sharing countless rounds with lifelong friends and family well into his 80s. His woodworking skills were legendary; his meticulous attention to detail and unwavering pursuit of perfection were evident in every creation. Wayne’s love for sports extended to both playing and cheering; he coached for his sons and enthusiastically cheered for his grandchildren.
Together with Joyce, Wayne’s adventurous spirit led them to explore the world, creating cherished memories on countless travels and family vacations. His greatest joy, however, was found in the smiles of his grandchildren.
