Jones, Herman W. “Bill”
on Sunday, November 5, 2017, passed peacefully at the age of 88. Beloved husband for 38 years of Diane M. Jones (nee Kientzy). He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard, Ken and Ralph and daughters Diane and Regina. He is survived by his three sons, Neil, Andy and Steve and his sister Dorothy Williams. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Herman grew up on a farm in Newburgh, Indiana during the Great Depression. He attended grade school in Newburgh. He was part of the Rockport, IN High School class of 1947, where he was on the basketball team. In 1959 he moved to St Louis, MO where he worked for Chrysler on the inspection line for over 25 yrs. Herman never lost his passion for sports. He rooted for Indiana, Missouri and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed yard work, the outdoors and the family float trips on the Current River, which still remain a family tradition. He passed along his love of conservation and hunting to his children and great- grandchildren. Most importantly he passed along his dedication to God, making sure the family had a firm foundation in God’s love.
Services: Visitation hours will be held at First Baptist Church of Arnold (2012 Missouri State Rd, Arnold, MO 63010) Friday, November 10, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, November 11, 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Arnold Saturday, November 11, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. with internment to follow at Shepherd Hills Cemetery (1925 Old Hwy M, Barnhart, MO 63012). If desired, contributions in his memory may be made to Arnold First Baptist Church.
