Don Kleinhans, of Arnold, Missouri, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 88.
Don was a hard-working, dedicated man who built a life through perseverance, and service to others. For many years, he owned and operated his barber shop, where he became a well-known and beloved figure in the community. To most, he was simply “Don the Barber,” affectionately nicknamed “Clippers” or “Clips.” His chair was a place of conversation, laughter, and friendship, and Don took great pride in his work and the people he served.
Don proudly served in the United States Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He remained active in his community throughout his life, serving as President of the Chippewa Broadway Business Association and faithfully attending the annual Hall of Fame baseball ceremonies.
A man of great kindness and generosity, Don left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a true sports enthusiast who loved staying active. Don enjoyed playing softball, cards, golf, and bowling—where he earned a reputation as a legendary bowler. He traveled for bowling tournaments and proudly bowled several perfect 300 games, accomplishments he cherished deeply.
Don is survived by his four sons, Don Jr., Steve, Jimmy, and Jeff; his daughter, Trish Harris; and his 17 grandchildren, along with many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Kleinhans (Varnon); his brother, Erwin “Butch” Kleinhans; and his sister, Charlotte Kleinhans.
