Anthony Lampe

In Loving Memory

Lampe, Anthony W.

March 12, 1935 - November 16, 2025

Anthony William Lampe of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away at his home surrounded by family on November 16, 2025 at the age of 90. He was a devoted catholic, son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father. A man of incredible faith.

He was born on March 12, 1935 in Glennonville, Missouri to Clemens Mathias and Regina Peters Lampe. He attended St. Teresa Catholic School and graduated in 1953. Shortly after graduation he proposed to his high school sweetheart, Clementine Stenger. Tony and Clementine married on October 4, 1954 and shared 71 loving years together.

Some of Tony’s earlier jobs included working for Marlo Coil. There he put together heating and cooling coils for units, which got him into the line of air conditioning. Around the 70s Tony worked 2 jobs. One was at St. Mary’s Hospital where he was a TV repairman. The other was at Union Electric where he was an underground man. That led him into SystemAire, Inc. where he was an AC service man. Tony made his way over to Climate Engineering in February of 1974 where he worked for 25 diligent years as a service repairman. Throughout his career he was a proud member of the Pipe Fitters local union 562.

After working hard for over 50 years, Tony finally retired in February of 1998 at the age of 62 and went to live in Black, Missouri. While down there they made the absolute most of the “farm.” Some of his hobbies were hunting, trapping, raising honey bees, making maple syrup, fishing, playing poker, spending time with his family and of course enjoying cold Busch beer. He had a passion for life. A life that was lived brightly in the light of the Lord. Tony and Clem devoted their life to God and were incredibly thankful for each and every blessing that came their way. He was always one to thank the Lord every day for his loved ones, many travels, health and of course, his Sweet Clementine.

He was a true servant of the Lord. Mom and Dad were very active in the church parishes where the family faithfully attended mass services at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Maplewood, Missouri and Our Lady of Sorrows, Lesterville, Missouri. Their strong faith was shared together since their first communion that they received together back in 1943. He was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and also was an altar server.  In addition, he was very involved in the church community functions such as the country fairs and the Thursday night bingo events.

Dad always wanted to be remembered for “being a good neighbor” and he did an amazing job of that. He was never one to turn away a friend or neighbor in need. Whatever was his was yours. He welcomed everyone with open arms and you always had a seat at his table. Tony would be over before you even broke a sweat if your air conditioner needed fixing or anything else for that matter.

Tony always had a way of lighting up the room. He was eager to share one of the hundreds of jokes he’s memorized from Reader’s Digest. As he was polishing off his butter pecan ice cream he had to remind everyone he “Didn’t want to ruin his school boy figure.”  If Tony wasn’t telling jokes to get a smile he was showing off his latest creations. He was so proud of his coyote teeth earrings, turtle claw back scratchers, and fur pelts.

Grandpa was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved every minute of spending time with them and attending their events. Tony and Clementine traveled across the county to see their family whether it be for graduations, events, or even just to visit. Grandpa was eager to pass his knowledge down to those willing to listen. He taught many how to hunt, fish, drive, forage, and everything else he ever knew.

Throughout out the 90 years, 1,121 months, 4,716 weeks, and 33,124 days he has walked on this Earth, he has made an everlasting impact on everyone he’s ever come in contact with. Tony Lampe loved everyone with every fiber of his being. He touched the hearts of those from the mountains of Alaska to the rivers of Brazil. The Legend of Anthony William Lampe aka Antonio Garibaldi Sebastiano Pascavage will always be remembered. His legacy and love will live on within all of us forever.

Tony is survived by his loving wife Clementine Catherine (Stenger) Lampe, children Edward, Janet (George), Julie (Robert), John, Mary and Anthony (Juana), grandchildren Elizabeth (Mike), John Michael, Stephanie, Christopher (Caitlin), Stephen (Caitlin), Bryan (Michelle), Brad (Nikki), Jennifer, Kenneth (Katie), Angela, Thomas, Abigail, George Dalton, Melinda (Kevin), Ashley, Dorothy, Madeleine, Robert M., Robert F., John Jr, Edward, Samuel, Kayla, Tyler, Erin, Andrew, Erica, Anthony W., great grandchildren Antoinette, Gavin, Ava, Mason, Olivia, Fallon, Laine, Scarlett, Ruby, Desi, Emily, Chloe, Alexander, Stella, Vera, Jada, Olivia, Sophia, Matthew, Kevin Jr, Henry, Clementine, George, Robert J., Lillian, Isabella, Trenton and Antonio.

He was the last of his generation of the Clemens Lampe Family, and was preceded in death by children Catherine, Martin, Susan, Matthew and Dennis, grandchildren Martin Jr, Rebecca, and great grand child Liza Blair.
