On August 9, 2018, Charles Joseph McKenna, 88, of St. Louis, MO, loving husband, of Alice McKenna, passed away at the age of 88. He was born to the late Charles and Caroline McKenna, October 25, 1929. Charles graduated from DeAndres High School and served as a Marine in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart. He retired from Proctor & Gamble after 25 years.
Charlie was a devoted husband and father who dearly loved his family, friends, and the game of golf. He enjoyed watching and playing all sports; he could fix anything and was always there to help family and friends with household projects. He also volunteered his services to various charities throughout the years. He was dearly loved by all who knew him.
Charlie was preceded in death by his son, Steven; his father, Charles; his mother, Caroline; and his sister Mary Reiter. He is survived by his wife, Alice McKenna, his three children, Michael (Chris) McKenna; Nancy (Don) Champoux, and David McKenna; his sister Carol (Frank) Braun and brother Tom (Mary) McKenna. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; daughter-in-law Jeanne McKenna and several cousins, nieces, nephew and extended family.
Visitation will be held at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon on Tue. 8/14. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
