August 28, 1954 - July 20, 2025

Parris, James Samuel “Sam” a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away at his home in Miami, FL., on Sunday July 20, 2025, with his loving wife at his side.  James “Sam” was born in Saint Louis, MO on August 28, 1954. He enlisted in the Army where he served for over twenty-six years and achieved the rank of 1SG First Sergeant. He was awarded Drill Sergeant of the year in 1984, amongst many other awards and recognitions throughout his service.  Sam is survived by his loving wife Isabella Parris. His two beloved sons Peter (Leticia), Tony (Jackie) Parris, and step-daughter Greta (Alex) Gomez. Dearest Grandpa of Aiyanna, Samuel, Kaleena, Anthony, and Victoria who brought him so much love and joy.  Beloved brother of Tommy (Alice), Bill, Marie, and Sherry. Good friend of Alex Gonzalez. Our dear husband, father, Papa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend will be cherished forever. Even though Sam lived in many places his passion for Saint Louis Cardinals never wavered and shared Cardinal baseball history and stats with the best.

Services: Service at  Kutis South City Chapel (2906 Gravois Ave. Saint Louis, MO 63118) on Thursday July 31, 2025 at 9am with interment  immediately following at Bellefontaine Cemetery, where Sam will be laid to rest with full Military Honors.

Visitation Wednesday (7/30) from 4-8pm
