It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Schmitz announces his peaceful passing on November 10, 2025, at the age of 90. Robert was the beloved husband of Lynn (nee Roddy) for 64 years. Devoted father to the late Daniel, Mary (Dennis) Kisner, David (Lorena), Steven (Claudia), and Rebecca Schmitz. Cherished grandfather to Finnegan Lane. Dear brother of Dorothy Hausladen. Dear uncle of the late Tony, Laura (John) Alvarado, and Stephen Hausladen. He will be dearly missed by many friends.
A proud veteran who served his country in the United States Navy, Robert later worked for Chrysler Corporation where he was a proud member of the UAW Local 597.
A man of deep faith, Robert was a devoted Catholic whose strength and spirit were an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a long-time and dedicated member of Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church.
He is now at peace in the arms of his Lord, free from the constraints of his earthly body. We take great comfort in knowing he is walking joyfully in heaven, whole and happy once more.
Visitation Tuesday, November 25, 2025, 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Mass, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church, 8866 Pardee Rd, St Louis MO 63123. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Louis Crisis Nursery (crisisnurserykids.org)
