Leona A. L. Scott, known to her friends as Lee, and known to her adoring grandchildren as Gram, passed away at home in St. Louis, Missouri on January 5, 2026 surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 24, 1942, to Anna Lee Keithly (nee Reed), and Leonard L. Keithly, a soldier who was then serving overseas in New Guinea during the Second World War. After the war, she lived for some time with her parents at Jefferson Barracks, and then later moved to the South County area where she graduated from Lindbergh High School, married, and had two daughters, Sherri (Michaels) and Kim (Besterfeldt) who were also raised in the South County area and who both graduated from Nerinx Hall High School.
For over 50 years, she worked tirelessly as a pharmacist’s assistant at Colonial Village Pharmacy in Webster Groves. She dedicated much of her energy in her later years to taking care of her parents until their passing, and watching over her grandchildren Robert Besterfeldt, Sydnie Besterfeldt, Jay Michaels and Sam Michaels. She always gave her best to her family, made all their lives much richer, and will always be dear in their hearts and sorely missed
