  3. So sorry for your loss, girls. Your dad was one of a kind and I always enjoyed visiting with him. He had a smile like no other and the sweetest eyes. Love you girls. ❤️

  5. May he rest in peace, Michelle, Jamie, Bethie and families. What always amazed me about Jimmy was that he put up with all of his sisters-in-laws, and then their children, who would spend an entire afternoon at his house without complaint. Oh, could he cook! Very sweet. One evening, I was over when they had the jacuzzi in the basement and Joanie said we wanted to use it. Jimmy set up everything, and Joan and I spent hours talking, laughing and maybe getting a little tipsy, while Jimmy watched over the children.

I also remember how much he and Joanie loved each other (Joanie always confided in me the loving things he did for her), and I truly believe that they are joined together in a way when they first fell in love. Love is that powerful as is mercy.

When Joanie and Jimmy visited us in Arkansas, oh how he would make Don and me laugh at his observations of life in the back woods of Arkansas. He was also so respectful — when we would rent a large pontoon for a day on the beautiful Lake Quachita, he would follow the one rule I made: that there was once Captain on the boat, and that Captain was me.

The words that come into my mind regarding Jimmy: mentally strong (which is incredible when we all know the trauma imposed to him during his service to the Army as a sniper, in which he received multiple Purple Heart awards), mechanically proficient, protective of all close to him, did his best to provide for his family and his extended family, and his unconditional love for all of you.

One of the funniest moments was when all of us girls (young and old) would say to our husbands, boyfriend(s), etc. whenever they met Jimmy was that to be very careful if Jimmy asked them into the garage. I’m telling you, the men would turn white. Of course, we knew that Jimmy would invite them into the garage to offer a tool or help.

    Blessings To Jimmy.
