Glenn Alan Streibig, lovingly known as Glennie, Dad, Grandpa, and GGPa passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born September 9,1933 to Helen Streibig (nee Schroer) and Raymond Streibig in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up with his brother, Donald, who was seven years his elder.

In his youth he was passionate about sports, primarily baseball and the Cincinnati Reds. He played endless street and sandlot games along with playing in Cincinnati’s “Knothole” Youth Baseball organization. His early development paid off when he landed the starting second base job on the Western Hills baseball team, winning the Ohio State Championship his senior year (1951). He also was a member of the high school swim team, and he received a journalism award for his column in the school newspaper, titled “As I See It”.

Glenn would tell you that the most significant highlight of his high school years was meeting the love of his life, Jawanna Johnson. Four years later Glenn earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Cincinnati and they were married in January, 1955 which began their seventy-plus year journey together.

They also spent time in Hondo,Texas, San Antonio, Texas and Wichita, Kansas.  Glenn primarily flew the B47 StratoJet Bomber along with other aircraft. He finished his service duty and was honorably discharged after moving to Columbus, Ohio. His service rank after active duty and reserves is Captain. During this period they welcomed their three children, Karen Jo, David Alan and Daniel Glenn.

After the Service Glenn went to work for United Parcel Service in Columbus, Ohio.  This began a 37-year career with a company he grew with and always respected.  His career moved the family from Columbus to Cincinnati, Ohio to Decatur, Illinois to Overland Park, Kansas and lastly, to St. Louis, Missouri where he called home for 60 years.

He was active in the Masons, Shriners, an avid golfer and enjoyed 30 years of membership at Sunset Country Club, and being part of the McDowell Group.   He and Jawanna traveled the world together.   He made dear, lifelong friends through every aspect of his life which he mentioned in his last moments.   He and Jawanna belong to the Concord Trinity United Methodist Church.

Glenn is survived by Jawanna, his beloved wife of 71 years, Karen Locke (Tom), David Streibig (Carol), Grandchildren:  Maslyn Locke, Ryan Locke (Wendy), Derrick Streibig (Michelle), Jeffrey Streibig (Janaki), Aaron Streibig (Megan), Darren Streibig (Lisa), Taylor Streibig, and 10 Great Grandchildren whom he loved dearly.  Glenn is also survived by his dear sister-in-law, Peggy Friedmann, dear nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

  2. My Mama, Leatrice Helena Stewart Smith, talked so lovingly of Glenn and the life he and his beloved, Jawanna (Mama’s niece) had. What a wonderful tribute and sending prayers for all the loved ones.

  3. Glenn was one of the best managers I worked with at UPS. Treated people with respect in an environment that often made it challenging to do so. An honorable man to his core. RIP Glenn.

  6. Jawanna, Carole and I are so sorry to hear of Glenns passing. We think you and he for so many years of friendship and fond memories. Karen, David, I know I don’t have to tell you what a wonderful man your father was. I worked with him for many years and in 95 when we retired, it was to the golf course for a good time. Had many meals with you Mother and Father and made a lot of memories. Your father will be missed by many, and we pray that your mother will be okay. We will be here if she needs anything.
