Wagner, Richard C.

February 17, 1922 - December 1, 2025

 

 

Richard C. Wagner, 103, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025.  A celebration of life service will take place at Kutis Affton Chapel on December 16, 2025.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Richard served in the Army Air Corp in the South Pacific during World War II.  He retired from McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) as a General Foreman in Production Control and worked on numerous projects like the F-15 and Space Shuttle program.  Richard had many interests that included woodworking, music, art, dancing, playing cards, and socializing.

Richard is survived by his children Stephanie Seper and Richard (Dianne) Wagner, grandchildren Natalie and Anika and blessed with bonus daughter Pam (Bill) Bogard, grandchildren Matthew, Jeremiah, Hannah (Wyatt) Machalek, Stephen (Alyssa), Samuel (Marjolaine), and Daniel, great grandchildren Grace, Aaron, Caleb, Ethan, Leah, Owen, Emmet, and Simeon, all of whom he loved.

Richard will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor, and zest to live.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Standin’ Proud Veterans Tribute, Bartelso, Illinois.

Family will receive friends at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Road, Tuesday, December 16, 11 am until the service at 12:30 pm.  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.

It was the ultimate honor to get to meet Richard at our STANDIN PROUD’s Veterans Museum , and get to experience his words describing his military service during WW2 for a Crosswinds Foundation documentary being filmed. We so appreciate your thoughtfulness also towards our Mission sincerely thank you

  4. So sorry to learn of Mr. Wagner’s passing. I met him at the annual Christmas lunch hosted by his son Rich and his wife Dianne. What a delightful man! I like hearing his stories and Rich and my boyfriend Joe Torrillo as boys. He had a great memory and a zest for life. It was a pleasure meeting him. He will, indeed, be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
