Wheatley, Elvin (Al) Augustus

November 26, 1938 - January 2, 2026

Elvin (Al) Augustus Wheatley died at 87 years old. Born 11/26/1938 in Paducah, Ky passed away January 2nd 2026.  He resided in Affton, Mo for more than 30 years.

He worked for the City of St. Louis at both the convention center and St. Louis International Airport until he had a stroke and was forced to retire. He served in the US Navy for 4 years. His hobbies included bike riding, coaching softball and spending time with his family. He had 10 brothers and sisters, and one was his twin brother. He has two surviving sisters Janice Lane and Mary Finocchiaro. He is survived by his daughter Terri Wheatley and his two sons Mike Wheatley and Joe Wheatley and deceased daughter Tammy Gilberg,  Paula Venable and Frank (Al) Wheatley. He had 7 grandchildren Tosha Kerperien, Austin Gilberg, Madisyn Miller, Cheyenne Black. Tyler Wheatley, Wyatt Wheatley and Crimson Hammer. He had 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandson, Anora Tucker, Rhett Tucker, Hyla Miller, Harper Miller, Aurora Ocegueda and Louis Carroll.

Services will be at Kutis Funeral Home at 10151 Gravois Rd. Affton, Mo. 63123

Visitation for family only from 11:30am – 12 noon we will then head to JB National Cemetery at 12:30pm for Military Services.

  2. Uncle Al was such a fun loving guy. I’m going to miss the stories he shared, his jokes, and the Navy stories we shared. Rest in peace Uncle Al.
