Florence Marie Ruffin, lovingly known as Sissy (and Flo), passed away on August 21, 2025 at the age of 91 while surrounded by her family.
Born December 10,1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, Flo lived a life defined by hard work, love and a deep devotion to family and friends. She was the wife of the late Curtis Floyd Ruffin for the last 42 years of his life; loving mother of Catherine Mary Deutsch (Marv), Diane Marie Ruffin, the late Curtis Michael Ruffin, Mark Thomas Ruffin and the cherished grandmother of Nicholas Deutsch, Alexandra Deutsch and Dane Solari (Caitlyn); great-grandmother of Asher, Jael, Shiloh and Esther Solari; dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Flo was the daughter of the late Mary Quigley (nee Foley) and Thomas Quigley, and the cherished sister of the late Michael Quigley and his wife, Maureen (Mo, to the family).
Heaven has truly gained one of our best… Flo was a light in the dark. She cared so deeply for others and gave freely of herself. She spent most of her life as a caregiver, making sure others were looked after and comfortable. She made her family and friends feel loved and cherished and often made strangers she encountered feel good about themselves. She raised her children and grandchildren to be good people and to have compassion for others.
Most notably, Flo had an infectious laugh that came so easily and brought joy everywhere she went. There is no doubt that she is making jokes and having a good laugh with the family and friends that have gone before her. She deserves to laugh again. She deserves peace.
She will remain forever in our hearts.
Services: A visitation celebrating Flo’s life will be held on Friday, August 29th from 4:00 to 7:00pm with a Memorial Service at 6:00pm at Kutis – South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road. All who knew her are warmly invited to attend and share stories in her honor.
