In Loving Memory

Rogers-Counts, Jo Anna “Jo”

September 16, 1959 - March 12, 2026

Jo Anna “Jo” Rogers-Counts passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. A woman of fierce determination and a heart as forgiving as it was strong, Jo left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

For many years, Jo was a prominent figure in the dental industry. As a dedicated sales representative, she thrived on the energy of dental shows and the adventure of travel. While colleagues knew her as a tough professional who knew exactly what she wanted, those closest to her knew her “soft” side: a woman of deep grace, immense forgiveness, and the ultimate cheerleader.

Jo’s greatest pride was her son, Austin Rogers. She spent countless cherished hours on the baseball fields, beaming with pride at the player and man he became.

Family was the centerpiece of Jo’s life. She created a vibrant, blended home where love was the only requirement. For twenty-four years, she was the steadfast partner and wife to Cassandra Nichole Counts. Through every milestone and rough patch, Jo stood by Cassandra’s side with a loyalty that never wavered.

She is survived by her son, Austin Rogers, and her children by heart, Matt Counts, Anna Counts, and Brett Counts. She also leaves behind her lifelong family friend, Gary Pawlak. Together, Jo, Gary, and Cassandra shared a unique and lasting bond, coordinating camping and float trips to ensure the children always had wonderful adventures together. Jo is preceded in death by her mother.

A celebration of Jo’s life will be held on Friday, March 20th at 10:00 am, officiated by Pastor Lauren Bennett of the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC).

  1. Jo was a fun person to be around. She was my daughter-In-Law. I used to make red beets for her when she had eaten She told me once that she even liked to drink the beet juice after she ate them withe Onions quite often. She really loved to get them. She just missed the last batch because I had bought the beets but had not finished them.
Rest in peace Jo. We will miss you. Love mom

  3. Joanne was a sincere, loving, and special longtime friend. A kind of friend you could call after a long period of time and it would seem like you talked the day before. She always talked about her family and how much she loved them. Austin is and was her brightest star from day one. I will miss our talks, but will always have precious memories full of laughter, tears, and so much more. I will miss you so much friend.
