Mary Kaythryn Deaton, was born on August 8, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to John J. and Mary Ann (nee Spies) Dillon, and entered into rest on Tuesday, March 17 at the age of 65.

Loving mother of Nicholas and Zachary Deaton. Dear sister of Jack (Tracy) Dillon. Dear aunt, cousin, and friend of many.

Family was a big part of Mary’s life. From birthday parties to holidays, she was always there to celebrate with her family with a smile on her face. She loved all of her family very much, from the closest relative to the furthest cousins. She loved hosting game nights at her house for her parents and cousins to come over on Saturdays.

She also had a second family: her work family at MODOT. An employee of over 32 years, she held several roles for the state including the adopt a highway program and snow plow dispatch. Mary always had stories about the antics at the office. She truly did enjoy her job and the people she worked with.

In the spring time, you could find Mary tending to her flower garden. She took great pride in her landscaping. She also made sure to put water in the bird baths and fill the food for the finches and hummingbirds that would find their way to her backyard during the summer.

Mary was a fan of all the local sports teams but the Cardinals were her favorite. She enjoyed going to Busch Stadium to root on her Cardinals and even joined her parents on a Spring Training bus trip to Florida .

As her boys grew up, Mary took on a new role: dog mom. Rudy quickly became her favorite son. It didn’t matter the temperature, you could find the two of them going on walks around the neighborhood. Of course she would stop and talk with the other dog parents. She always remembered their names as well as their pet’s names. She never stopped worrying about ‘her boy.’

SERVICES: a MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held on Friday, April 10 from 9:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. In lieu of flowers donations in her honor appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
