Kister, Joseph Patrick, age 91, longtime resident of Oakville, passed away on May 23, 2026. Born December 7, 1934 near Farmington, Missouri to Ralph and Margaret (nee Daugherty) Kister, he grew up in Ferguson, Missouri and attended St. Louis University.
Beloved husband of the late Joan A. (nee Noltkamper; Rigsby) Kister; dear father of Mark (Leslie) Rigsby and the late Michael (survived by Julia Mense) Rigsby, Joseph P. Kister, Jr. and Kevin R. (survived by Shannon) Kister; dear grandfather of 6, and great-grandfather of 4;
Joe was preceded in death by his brothers James Kister Sr. and Raphael Kister, and by his sisters Loretto Schaeffer, Lucille Butler, Ursula Bifano, Rose Winer, Joan Kister, and Margaret Barnak; our dear brother -in-law, uncle, great-great uncle, cousin and friend.
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Tuesday, June 2, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel on Wednesday, June 3, 9:30am to Mary, Mother of the Church Catholic Church for 10:00am mass. Interment with honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
