Beloved daughter of the late Gino and Nina Pambianco; loving sister of Mary Yarbrough and Donald Pambianco; dear aunt and friend.
Gina was a caring soul that spent her whole life helping others. In her younger years, she took in multiple neighborhood youth/teens and let them sleep on her couch/floor and fed them to help keep them out of trouble. These people basically saw her as a mother, and still do.
She spent the last 20+ years working for St. Patrick Center where she managed the books for one of their Group Homes for dual diagnosed (drug/alcohol abuse & mental illness) homeless people.
She helped cook meals that would be donated to ~40 people every 4th of July and Thanksgiving for the last 8 year, and donated her time to anyone that was in need, helping with clerical tasks and providing insight and information when needed.
Everyone who ever met Gina loved her, she spread happiness and joy/cheer to all around her. However, she was also a spicy Italian — One minute she’d be yelling at you for doing something stupid, and the next she was offering a snack or inviting you over for dinner, etc. And you knew that if she invited you for dinner, there would be way too much food, as is tradition for Italian families!
She loved baking too and would easily baked 20-30 dozen cookies every winter to give out to family and friends.
But more than anything, she loved her cats! Tiger (her baby) and Smokee lived long lives with her before passing in their late teens. And her most recent baby, Sputter, who she got up every morning by 4am to feed!
Services: Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel 101515 Gravois, Thursday September 3, 10:00 AM. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to donations to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) https://www.nami.org/ appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 4-9 PM.
