KEITH ROBERT CARLETON

Keith Carleton was a member of St Margaret Mary Alacoque Church for Twenty-Seven years. He has been enduring complicated health issues which has had him coping at nursing homes and hospital stays for almost two years. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the age of 77 years old.
Keith Robert Carleton was born on November 16, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of deceased Robert W. Carleton and Imogene (Hintz) Carleton. Keith grew up in St Louis and graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1967. In 1975 he married his loving and supportive wife, Joyce Carleton (nee McBride) and were together for 51 years. Keith was the brother of deceased Robert S. Carleton (Phyllis d.) of St. Louis. Brother of Karen (Carleton) Beishir (Mark) of Arnold, Brother in-law of Jerry McBride (Nancy) of Troy, IL, Joan Flynn (Jerry) of Kirkwood, Terry McBride (Tricia) of Troy, IL; Uncle of Brandon Beishir (Jennifer) of Eureka, Nick Beishir (Christine) of Festus, Shannon Gentry (Brandon) of St. Jacob, IL, Justin McBride (Kristina) of Marine, IL, Rory Flynn (Aby) of St. Louis, Katherine Kelly (Everett) of Troy, IL, Ryan Flynn of New York, N.Y., and Shane McBride (Krista) of Edwardsville, IL; Great uncle of Benjamin, Hudson, Hayden, Liam and Noah Beishir; Emma and Chloe McBride; Will, Parker, and Caden Kelly; Kailey and Austin Gentry; Vivian and Logan McBride and Remy Flynn. Cousins, Ron (Peggy) and Nancy Kalivoda of Naperville, IL and many other cousins and friends that mourn his passing.
Keith received an A.A. from Meramec Community College. Computer Programming degree from Brian Institute. Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems degree from Maryville University in 1991. He served in the United States Air Force from September 1969 through July 1973 as a Cryptographic and Digital Subscriber Equipment Technician. He was stationed in Lackland AFB, Sheppard Air Force Base and Fort Monmouth for tech school. He left the Air Force as a Sergeant in July 1973 with an Honorable Discharge. He worked for several companies: Dau Furniture, General Gasket Corp, Coors Distributing Co. and Associated Grocers. He was a Computer Programmer at Computer Task Group and had his first stroke on an out of State assignment in 1990. He retired in 2009 from A.G. Edwards/Wachovia/Wells Fargo. There he worked in Information Technology Systems as a Database Administrator and Application Developer.
Keith was the Financial Secretary and Fourth Degree Member for Pope John XXIII Knights of Columbus Council 6018, and Charter Member and Financial Secretary for St Margaret Mary Alacoque KC Council 14719. He was a member of the St. Louis County American Legion Post 111 for 27 years.
Keith was a car enthusiast and owned 42 in his lifetime, including many Corvettes. He traded in a 1959 Corvette for a 350 Honda to enjoy road trips with his military buddy. He kept in touch with his Air Force military brothers throughout the years. He had nine Corvettes and belonged to two Corvette Clubs. Then he wanted more of a challenge so he owned multiple Recreational Vehicles.
Keith had quite a sense of humor, intelligent, found great joy and happiness as a fierce competitor of Pinocle; any type of Math; enjoyed doing home improvement projects for his home and for relatives and friends. Although he was disabled with a stroke at 40 years old, he was able to overcome his disability and lead a productive, personal and professional life. He enjoyed his love of vehicles, travel, home improvement, good food, and getting together with family and friends.
Thanks to the Veteran Administration for their many years of support, especially with home health workers and medical equipment. Thanks to St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles for caring in Keith’s final days. Thanks to all the family support through the years.
Family and friends are invited for a visitation on Friday, September 11, starting at 9 am. (Family 8:45 am). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church at 10 am, 4900 Ringer Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. The Burial ceremony will be held at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery at 11:30 am. Luncheon afterwards in the Parish Center.
