Clore-1

In Loving Memory

Clore, Charles Robert

Charles Robert Clore was born on June 27, 1936 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Charles Scott and Frieda Clore.  There he lived and attended The Lutheran School and graduated from Cape Central High School in 1954. While in high school, he played football and was given the nickname “Clara Bell”. Mr. Clore joined the National Guard of Cape Girardeau in 1954.  He served 8 years and received his honorable discharge in 1962. He was an apprentice butcher for the A & P Grocery store and worked his way to store manager.  He ended his career at A & P when the store closed and made his way to the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Cape Girardeau. Charles was the district manager and would be seen throughout town in his Pepsi truck setting up for local events such as the Southeast Missouri State Fair, large church picnics and any other event that needed a cool, refreshing drink of Pepsi. Charles married his high school sweetheart Janet Clore (Brennan) and had two daughters Kali and Melissa.  He loved his pets dearly especially his best dog Nicholas and his two loving cats Louis and Precious. He also enjoyed the outdoors, trout fishing at Montauk, duck hunting and camping.  He loved working in the yard and doing crafts with his wife Janet. Charles would do all of the woodworking while Janet focused on the painting and decorating. Later in life, he enjoyed playing golf with his son-in-laws and his church friends. In 1981, the family moved to the St. Louis area and settled in the Imperial area.  He retired in 2000 from 3-D Distributing after many years as a warehouse supervisor.

Charles is preceded in death by his father and mother.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet and his daughter Kali (Alan) Gowen of Dittmer Missouri and Melissa (Patrick) Montgomery of Herculaneum, Missouri.  He is loved and adored by his three grandsons: Alex Gowen, Zach Gowen and Brennan Montgomery. He will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
