Officer Gregory T. Triplett, STLMPD

March 7, 1968 - April 1, 2026

Officer Gregory T. Triplett, STLMPD,  was born to Otelia and Jim Triplett on March 7,1968. He was the youngest of four children and brought joy to those around him with his humor and vibrant personality. Gregary T. Triplett’s life was marked by dedication and service to his Community. His father, Jim Triplett, Special uncle Pastor James Z. Williba, and 1 niece LaKesha Cole preceded him in death.

He graduated from O’Fallon Technical Center on June 5, 1986, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Webster University on May 4, 1994. He graduated from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Academy embarking on a remarkable career with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department that spanned an impressive 32 years. His work was more than just a job; it was a calling. Gregory loved his community and took pride in making a difference in the lives of others through his role in laws enforcement.

Gregory T. Triplett departed this life on April 1, 2026, at St. Louis University Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Mother, Otelia Triplett; three sisters, Patricia (Bobby) Banks; Shirley (L.C.) McCauther and Ruthie (Polly) Hill. Three brothers Winfred (Betty) Hamilton, Elder Bobby Triplett, and Dr. Jim Triplett, Jr. A special friend for 22 years of Latanya Newland, A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, one god-daughter (Aisah) Newland and friends

Services: Funeral service at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, (4431 Lindell Blvd. St. Louis, MO,  63108) on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 10:00 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation: Sunday (4/12) from 4 – 8:00pm at Kutis Funeral Home, City Chapel, 2906 Gravois Ave., Saint Louis, MO 63118.

  1. Greg, you were the best partner and officer could have. Always up for whatever the day brought. I remember a surveillance session on the roof of a very tall building. We could hear thunder in what we thought was the far distance. Suddenly, we both came running around the corner and you had your hands over your (very shaved) head because we could feel the lightning skim across our heads. I don’t think either one of us had ever ran that fast! You were an amazing partner and friend. Peace.
