Patton, Helen E.

Helen E. Patton, born October 29, 1930, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2019, in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 89. Helen was the daughter of Jerry Drudik and Mamie (nee: Krist), both deceased. Helen was preceded by her husband John (married for 62 years). She is survived by her twin sister Doris Drudik; children Suzanne (Randy), and Elaine (Don); and loving grandchildren Amy (Todd), Kristal (Gary), Daniel (Megan), and Mandy; great grandchildren Benjamin and Gage; sister-in-law Patricia (Jim), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Helen was a homemaker for many years. She was active in volunteering for South County Meals on Wheels for over 25 years starting as a driver and taking on additional responsibilities as the route coordinator. She also enjoyed helping John test wood crafted toys for local children’s hospitals and rehab centers. She and John worked together to created homemade Christmas ornaments from 1980 to 2017 which are cherished by family and friends. She was generous with her time and talent at church by making soup kitchen meals for countless years. She was a willing babysitter at a moment’s notice and loved her grandchildren dearly. She was a good seamstress and made countless clothes and costumes for her family. She was a simple woman with strong family values. She was always ready to lend a hand. She was a proud St. Louis Zoo Member and loved going there with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Tuesday, December 3, 9:00 a.m. to Our Lady of Providence Church for 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment Sunset Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 4-8 p.m.
