In Loving Memory

Miller, Shirley

Shirley Miller (nee Webb) wife of the late Robert Miller, died Friday July 15th held tight by loved ones, at the age 84.

She leaves behind her daughter Sherry McDonnell (Brian), her grandchildren Gavin McDonnell and Alicia Spiegel (Eric), sister Connie Kelley , great grandchildren Owen, Ash and Adam Spiegel and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert, her sisters Geraldine and Rita and brother Les as well as her parents John and Ruby and sister in law Lynda Wilson.

Shirley was born and raised in Sesser, Illinois. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri as a young woman and met and married Robert Miller. Soon came the light of her life, her baby daughter Sherry. Shirley held several jobs assisting small businesses in the St. Louis area before spending most of her career working for Ralston Purina.

Shirley had many interests over the years including reading, doing puzzles, traveling with her husband and friends, collecting recipes and cooking her many specialties for her family. She loved watching the Cardinals play baseball or her favorite game shows. Her favorite activities by far were going to lunch with friends or a long phone call to catch up and she very much treasured just doing simple things with her family. She had a very friendly spirit and never met a stranger and could engage anyone in conversation anywhere.

Visitation for Shirley will be held at Kutis South County on Lemay Ferry Road on Friday July 22 at 9:00 followed by funeral service at 10:30 and interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
