In Loving Memory

Janet Lee (Koch) Sandbach

Janet Lee (Koch) Sandbach died December 7,  2023 at 90 years old after suffering a stroke while grieving the death of her husband of 68 years.  

Janet was born July 11, 1933 to her parents, Fred & Myrtle Koch in St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charlie Sandbach.  She was survived by her three children and their spouses – Debbie & Rick Bradshaw, Cindy & Keith Blaylock, and Charlie & Beth Sandbach. Six grandchildren and their spouses – Megan & Morgan Petersen, Scott & Michaela Sandbach, Derek & Melissa Bradshaw, Lindsey & Chadwick Eulentrop, Chad Blaylock, and Kaitlyn Blaylock. One great grandchild – Cedric James Eulentrop. One sister and brother-in-law – Joan and Gene Fore, living in KS. Two sisters-in-law – Lois Koch and Vora Hedricks, both living in CA. Janet was also preceded in death by her brother, Bill Koch, and brother-in-law, Charlie Hedricks, both from CA. She has many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Janet had a good life and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. Janet graduated from Greenville University in Greenville, IL in 1955.  That summer she married her college sweetheart, and began teaching in the fall at Ritenour School District. She also taught in Fayetteville, NC schools while being with her military husband at Fort Bragg for a year and a half. Returning to the St. Louis area, she continued teaching until her children were born, then she became a full-time mother. Janet was active with young people being a leader with the local Campfire Girls organization and being a sponsor and chaperone for the youth, their activities and trips for many years at the Webster Groves Church of the Nazarene. In the most recent years she attended church at Canaan Baptist Church. Janet loved Jesus and His church.

Today Janet is in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She has joined her husband in heaven, no more tears or pain. Janet will be sorely missed!

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd.  (63129) on Sunday, December 17 from 2 p.m. until  4 p.m.  Additional visitation at CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH 5409 Baumgartner Rd (63129) on Monday at 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at J.B. National Cemetery leaving from Canaan Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers donations to Canaan Baptist Church – Children’s Ministries are appreciated.  Thank you
