In Loving Memory

Politsch, Doris C.

June 4, 1928 - December 11, 2023

Doris C. Politsch, 95, of St. Louis died Monday December 11, 2023.
She was born June 4, 1928 in New Athens, Illinois to Alvin and Esther (née Berthold) Weidemann. One of thirteen children, family was everything to her. Born between brothers Wesley and Maurice, she could easily hold her own on a baseball diamond or at a ping-pong table and never had to worry about boys at school.
She met Earl C. Politsch in neighboring Lenzburg, Illinois. He made her laugh and charmed her, and they married on May 8th, 1948. Together they had three children, Karen, Carol, and Kent.
She could make the best fried chicken, fold crisp hospital corners on a bed in a flash, and iron a killer crease in any pant (even jeans). She got sillier as she got older. She loved to laugh, to dance to big band music, and mostly to spend time with her kids and grandchildren. She will be missed.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Karen; her son, Kent, and his wife, Beth; her grandchildren, Collin, Allison, and Isaac; and her siblings, Alice, Nadine, Joyce, and Wayne. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a dear sister, aunt, and friend.
This was said before, but it bears repeating…
She will be missed.
Visitation and Funeral are scheduled for Wednesday January 3rd at Kutis Funeral Home, Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO 63123.

  • Public Visitation: 10am-12pm, January 3rd

  • Burial Service: 1:15pm January 3rd (Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery)

  1. Dear Weidemann and Politsch families. Please accept my sympathy. Al Keuss told me today that Doris had died. I’m sorry! She was a beautiful lady inside and out. May you be at peace in your memories of her. Blessings to all of you!
