Ruth Eldridge was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world after a long battle with illness on June 29, 2024.
She was born to Carl and Mae Wilson on January 26, 1939. Ruth left school at an early age to help care for her siblings and help tend to household duties. She met her husband, Larry Eldridge, whom she married at the young age of 18. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before his passing in 2022. Together, they had 4 children: Chris (Diane), Keith (Julie), Susan (Skip) and Marsha (Mark) and 8 grandchildren: Stephen (Lexi), Stephanie (Zach), Hannah, Rachel, Jacob, Amanda, Ian, and Andrew. Ruth was the dear sister of: Janet Ledbetter, Jim Wilson, and Donna Wilson (preceded in death by: Paul Wilson, David Wilson, Darlene Wilson and Tom Wilson).
Ruth was an assembly line worker for most of her life, until her retirement from Sigma Chemical Company. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known to be a very good cook, whose chicken and dumplings were 2nd to none. Ruth was a devout Christian who dedicated her entire life to serving the Lord. She had a powerful voice and loved to sing songs of praise in church, while playing the piano, which was self-taught. Ruth will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 6th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Nazareth Living Center, which is where she resided the last 3 years (link below) https://nazarethlivingcenter.org/areas-you-can-support/
