We are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of beloved Theresa Marie McKee (Scott) at the age of 55. Theresa was a loyal wife & soulmate to Sean Patrick McKee. Loving Mother & best friend to Thomas Patrick McKee and Carly Marie McKee. Devoted daughter to Carol Jean Scott and the late Thomas Charles Scott. Faithful sister to Christine Ann Jones. Brother-In-Law to Dean Charles Jones. Inspirational Aunt to Nicholas Charles Jones & Kelsey Marie Jones; Great Aunt to Galina Ortiz, dear daughter-in-law of Nessie and the late Gerald McKee, sister-in-law to Miki (Michael) McKee, and dedicated companion to anyone she crossed paths with.
To know her was to love her. Theresa, a caring Mother to all, always put the needs of others before her own. Born and raised in North Saint Louis, MO. She attended St. Sebastian and later went on to graduate from Riverview Gardens High School in 1987. Theresa met her husband Sean McKee a year later in 1988 while working at the airport. The love and connection for one another was instant, and they started forever together on July 17, 1993. It was a hot, humid summer afternoon as they promised their vows to each other and began a life of their own.
Spending 36 years together, Sean and Theresa created a legacy that will live on through multiple generations. When asked as a little girl what Theresa wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was simple: “All I ever want to be is a Mother.” Her dream came true on September 25, 1995, when the McKee family welcomed their first born son into the world: Thomas Patrick McKee. Oh the joy of motherhood was so great, she knew she couldn’t stop with just one. On the evening of April 14, 1998, Theresa gave birth to a beautiful baby girl: Carly Marie McKee. The McKee family now complete, a party of 4. Theresa had everything she ever wanted, and the love she gave her two children was unconditional and will remain unmatched.
Theresa was fortunate enough to stay at home and watch her kids grow until they went to school on their own at St. Simon. She quickly gained the title as the “fun mom.” Whether she was caring for kids during lunch recess, coaching Carly’s basketball team, leading Tommy’s cub scout group, or even teaching PSR, her charming smile never faded. She was a very proud Mama to her children, and for those of you who crossed paths with her, knew her children were her world.
Theresa became a vocal advocate for protecting Mother Earth and the wildlife on it. She met a man, Happy Bruno, nearly 8,000 miles away in Africa, and together they made a lasting impression. They collaborated on numerous projects, including the publication of their children’s book “The Legend of Rafiki.” They also initiated campaigns and fundraisers that led to the establishment of the Bwindi Community Center, which today serves as a library and women’s workshop in Uganda. She even opened a non-for-profit charity here in the US. Her hard work and desire to educate our young was truly inspiring.
Success looks different to everyone. For Theresa, success was having fun with the family she created. Her light-hearted, happy-go-lucky, can-do attitude took her far. Through hard work and dedication, she obtained the life she dreamed of. Theresa worked endlessly for the people she loved. Her energy was contagious and will live on through every soul she touched in her 55 years here on Earth. Today, we encourage you to not dwell on her passing, but instead think of the impact you yourself will leave for generations to follow. How will you be remembered?
We love you forever TT,
The McKee Family

Theresa was such a great person. I’ll never forget how she always called me Toots. It always made me laugh. She will be missed. My heart goes out to the McKee family.
Theresa, or “Terri” as we called her as kids, always had a smile on her face and would light up the room with her positive energy. She actually brought us closer together as a family later in life, when it is so easy to drift apart as we get older.
She will be greatly missed, but never be forgotten. Jimmy & Charlene
Theresa touched many lives and I will always remember that special smile of hers…..she was a joy to be around and will be missed but not forgotten by many of us.
Theresa touched so many lives, and truly a wonderful person. My condolences to family and freinds.

I never met this kind soul but her daughter Carly is an amazing person and so caring. I know by the fruit that she produced the beautiful children that are her legacy ,that she raised and by the fruit of her labor ,when she was here from the humanitarian work that she did ,that I can hear the lord say WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT. May you find peace in knowing that JESUS blessed you and your family with an amazing person to her entire family and friends. Blessed are those that mourn for they shall be comforted!!!!
I will continue to keep this family up in my prayers! Heaven gained an angel in Theresa!
