  1. God surely matched me with the best dad I could ever wish for. He challenged me and gave me the confidence and tools to do the hard things in life and to not be afraid. His love and support nurtured me all my life to the very end. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. I hope you got that Harley Davidson ride all the way to heaven!!🥰

  3. Roger, You have been a great friend and mentor. I’ve always listened to your advice. I seldom followed it but always listened to it. We have had a great ride together. You have always been a man that I’ve admired and looked up to. Keep practicing because I can’t wait to tee it up when I get there!! Love and miss you!

  5. Though I only had the privilege of knowing my wonderful neighbor Roger for a couple of years, I will dearly miss his big smiles and chats whenever we saw each other in our backyards. His devoted dog Max was always with him and my dogs got so excited when they heard the back door close next door knowing it would be Roger and Max and time to catch up through the fence. I will sorely miss my sweet daily waves and smiles.

  7. My memories will last forever and beyond. Our first meeting on the train at Union Station heading to Lackland Air Force Base in Texas for a basic training together. Our first posting as airman to Whiteman Air Force Base. Our TDY to Germany, where we had many Steins of Loudra beer and fought the French army guys whenever we could. I stayed in Germany and you had to get home to the USA to be with your family. Through the many twist and turns of our life we always manages to be very good friends, I will miss you, but never forget you

  9. My condolences to Janie and the family.
I had the pleasure of working with Roger in the automotive industry. Roger was always good to me and willing to help. He took an upbeat approach to life and business dealings. A legacy we can all remember and follow.
I know Roger leaves his family and friends with the gift of many precious memories. He’ll be missed.

  12. Dear Pop,

I too have some very fond memories of you, and I’ll always treasure them.
When first meeting you in 2011 and saying yes sir, no sir and you telling me that you weren’t a sir, just call you “your majesty’, yeah you were a character.
My fondest memories of course will be “the lake”, watching you play cards, listening to your stories, learning from you, oh and your singing. Your generosity was undeniable, always welcoming, you always made sure to get everyone in the kitchen, hold hands in a circle and say prayer before dinner. I promise to always hold that spot for you. The love I witnessed that you had for Janie, your kids and grandkids is unmatched. I will forever be thankful to have known you, and I’m fortunate to still have a part of you in my life.
    I hope you’re racing a fast motorcycle!!!
    Forever your daughter,

    Patti
