Thelma Laurice Alford a.k.a. “Reesy” was born on October 25, 1972 to the late Bertie Byrd (Thompson) and Norman Alford, Sr. Reesy was the youngest of seven children.
Thelma accepted Christ and she was baptized at an early age.
Thelma attended Rockwood Public School in Missouri and graduated from Eureka Sr High in 1991. She went on to further her education and she received two Associates Degree in Business Management and Advertising. Thelma was an Ordained Minister; Travel Agent; Tax Specialist; Financial Advisor and a Lifelong Learner.
She loved life and enjoyed traveling, singing and entertaining. Reesy loved to conversate with all her family members. Reesy enjoyed helping others no matter how small. She especially loved her nieces and nephews and there was nothing that she would not do for them.
After working for H&R Block for four years, Thelma then became an entrepreneur, starting her own business “Tax-E Services”.
Thelma was blessed to mother two beautiful daughters, Jasmine Alford and Mya Ernst.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Bertie Thompson and Norman Alford, Sr.; stepfather, William A. Thompson; brothers, Norman Alford, Jr. and Norman Alford, Jr. II; sister, Patricia Alford; grandparents, Daisy Butler (Arthur Lee); uncle, Love Me “LM” Buckhalter; and auntie, Barbara Gilliam (John).
On Friday, July 14, 2023, Thelma was called to her Heavenly home while surrounded by her loving family.
Thelma leaves to cherish her memories: her children ~ Jasmine Alford and Mya Ernst; her soulmate ~ Marc Ernst; sisters ~ Casandra Wallace (Albert), Celia Alexander (William L.), Sylvia Lockett (Calvin), Normal Jean Trotter (Gerald) and Daisy Harris; stepsisters and brothers ~ Karen Alford, Philip J. Thompson (Lawanna), Gary A. Thompson, Phyllis E. Bursey (Terry), William A. Thompson, Jr., Stephanie Thompson and Randy Thompson; nieces and nephews ~ Sheldonn V. Keys, Sr., Celia Brenston (Justin), Danyale Harris, Patrice S. Johnson, Janteece J. Johnson, Darryl Harris, Jr. (Amber), Bertie M. Warfield, Demetri L. Lockett, Deonte Harris and Andrew Warfield; Marc’s mother and brother ~ Marion Ernst and Steven Ernst; and a host of other relatives and friends.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois Rd 63123) on Friday, August 4th at 11:00 am until the service begins at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
With a heavy heart I send my condolences, love and prayers. Know that while I’m not able to be there in person during this difficult time, everyone is on my mind. I’m so sorry to hear about Laurice passing. Sending prayers of peace to her daughters. I went to school with Laurice and all who knew her would tell you she always had a smile and a laugh to share with others. Rest in peace Laurice.
