Altnether, Thomas Raymond

September 17, 1952 - December 28, 2025

Age 73, passed away on November 28, 2025 at his home, in Hazelwood, Missouri.   Tom grew up in Glascow Village with his two sisters and four brothers.  He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Rita Altnether and sister-in-law Karen (Paul) Altnether.   He is survived by his sister Rita (Charlie) Scotino, brother Paul Altnether, sister Kathi (Tom) Biesinger, and brothers Dave (Susan) Altnether,  Daniel Altnether (Partner David Paschke) and Ken (Angie) Altnether together with six nephews, three nieces, three great nieces and two great nephews who loved to rough-house with him.   Tom is survived by his two children, Tim Altnether (Partner Barb Keller) of St. Paul, MN and Scott Altnether of Foley, Alabama.

Tom worked as a truck mechanic for Yellow Freight Trucks and then went on to finish his career as a master mechanic with Penske Trucks, a union job he loved.   Tom loved the outdoors and was a lifetime fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, he had an uncontrollable passion for caring for animals and nature, a passion he passed on to his two sons.    Tom loved sharing stories of his childhood, and still loved shows like The Three Stooges and The Little Rascals. Tom was known for his unpredictable sense of humor, his creative outfits for family parties and outings.   He was an amazing cook and enjoyed sharing his talent by cooking for others any chance he could get.   A private service will be held by the family.
