Dennis “Denny” O’Connor, 87, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on March 27, 2026.
Denny was born on June 25, 1938, to Stephen and Virginia O’Connor in Cameron, Missouri. Denny and his younger brother Donny grew up on the family farm before moving to town in their teens. After high school, Denny served in the Navy before making his way to St. Louis which became his chosen home.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Don. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Bert O’Connor (Leavenworth), 5 nieces and nephews and their families, and his dear friends Allyson Wolfe (St. Louis) and Shelly Pogue (St. Louis), as well as many long-time friends from Sportsman Park.
SERVICES: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Friday, April 10, 12:30 PM until time of funeral service at 1:30 PM. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Growing up together in Cameron, Denny was not just a first cousin but a friend by choice. Denny’s given name was that of his grandfather Dennis who immigrated from County Limerick, Ireland. We shared a strong bond through our common ancestors, large family reunions and schooling at St. Rita’s Academy and Cameron High School. Many a bridge game was played amongst our families, and Denny was easily the best player at the table. Although he had a quiet demeanor, there was no one that could work up a hardier laugh than Denny. With fondest memories and with deepest sympathy,

I remember spending a lot of Christmas’s just talking about whatever came to mind but mostly baseball (his Cardinals) and I looked forward to those times, gonna miss our talks. R.I.P.
