93, entered into eternal rest on January 9, 2024. Beloved wife for 63 years of the late Kenneth J. Amsler. Loving mother of Susan (Chris) Schoemehl, Karen (Bill) Kumpe, Kevin (the late Cindy) Amsler of Queen Creek, AZ, and Karl (Sonny Stewart) Amsler of Oakland Park, FL. Dear grandmother of Emily Beck, Brittany (Dave) Matlock, Daniel Hogberg, Laura (Matt) Shadow, Brooke (Les) Mead, Carolyn Schoemehl, Jennifer (Mike) Lawhead, Kristen (Brett) Palmer, and Kimberly (Rod) Banks. Proudest great-grandmother of 18–Nathan, Carson, Blake, Holden, Tyson, Dexter, Kylee, Brileigh, Theodore, Gretchen, Skylar, Bennett, Preston, Savannah, Brandon, Harlow, Hudson, and Tatum.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth (Murphy) and Ervin Hilse and sister Lorraine (Leonard) Jaeger. She was a proud graduate of Cleveland HS Class of 1949. Our dear cousin, aunt, great-aunt, neighbor and friend.

Services: Visitation Sunday, Jan. 14, 4 – 7 pm. Christian funeral Monday, Jan. 15 at 8:30 a.m. All services at Kutis So. County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice appreciated.

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with the Amsler family. Shirley was such a sweet lady. I remember when she came to the house with Carol Benedict to visit at Christmas a few years ago. My mom so enjoyed the chance to be with her. It isn’t easy, but she was blessed with a long life. May you cherish the memories and may they bring you comfort.

  3. Our sincere sympathy to Sue and Chris and entire Amsler family. Sue, your mom was very sweet and always easy to talk with.
    She was lucky to have such a long life at 93.

  5. Shirley was such a kind and caring woman , I was blessed to know her. I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to pay my last respects to her, she was so welcoming to me when I was new to her family. I will pray for her and her family , I know she will be dearly missed. Glenda
