Peggy Joyce Anderson, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family. She spent her final days just as she lived her life—laughing, smiling, and bringing joy to those around her.
Born on January 1, 1932, in Pilot Knob, Missouri, Peggy spent most of her life in St. Louis, Missouri, where she built a loving home and raised her family. She attended Missouri Business School for two years before beginning her career as a bookkeeper. She later devoted herself to being a homemaker, a role she embraced with love, grace, and unwavering dedication. Peggy was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Peggy married the love of her life, Edward Eugene Anderson, in 1953. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and cherished memories. Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Eugene Anderson; her parents, Vivian Short Harbison and Edward Harbison; and her siblings, Shirley Harbison Bowling, Jerry Harbison, and Sue Harbison Bearman.
She is survived by her son, Edward Anderson II (Pamela); her daughter, Caren Anderson Landrum (Timothy); her grandchildren, Nikki Anderson Ball (Ryan), Edward Anderson III (Amela), Megan Landrum Erdbruegger (Bradley), and Jessica Landrum Foote (Alex); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Jake Ball, Mackenzie Ball, Liam Anderson, Alec Anderson, and Benjamin Erdbruegger.
Peggy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, always enjoyed an ice-cold Coca-Cola, and adored her granddogs. Peggy had a remarkable ability to light up every room with her laughter, warmth, quick wit, and a little bit of spunk. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcomed and loved. In her later years at Sunrise Senior Living in Des Peres, she formed many meaningful friendships and became a beloved member of the community, touching the lives of residents, staff, and friends with her kindness and joyful spirit.
Peggy’s favorite song was Willie Nelson’s Always on My Mind, a fitting reflection of the love and memories she leaves behind. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing that Peggy will remain always on our minds and forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home (Lemay Ferry Road Chapel). Following visitation, a procession will depart for Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, where a graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m.
Peggy will be remembered most for the love she shared with her family, the laughter she brought to every occasion, and the joy she found in the people she loved. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to call her “Nana.”
