Jack Banderet, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was the loving husband of 64 years to the late June Banderet (nee Hampel). He was the wonderful father of the late Linda Banderet and Michele (Chris) Lembeck. Jack was the proud grandpa of Terri and Katy Banderet, Christian Pavez, and Nicholas Lembeck. He was the devoted brother of the late Betty and her late husband Jerry Sauder. Jack also leaves behind his dear brothers- and sisters-in-laws, Janice and the late Gus Berry, Judy and the late Harry Fabick, and Richard Hampel.
Jack graduated from Maplewood High School. After a two-year army stint, Jack married and was devoted to his lovely wife, June. He was a candy salesman extraordinaire and loved sports of all kinds, including his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a walking encyclopedia of sports knowledge before Google existed and loved nothing more than a good conversation about last night’s game, regardless of the team or sport. He knew all the good restaurants before Yelp existed. It didn’t matter where you were, he knew a place. His humor and steady presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in every laugh shared and every moment spent together in love.
In honor of Jack’s love of life and sports talk, the family welcomes you to wear your gear to represent your favorite sports team at his visitation.
Services: Memorial visitation will be held at Kutis Affton (10151 Gravois Rd. St. Louis, MO 63123) on November 8, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Inurnment JB National Cemetery November 10, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
