Barr, Joseph Edward, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thurs. Nov. 14, 2024. Beloved husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” Barr (nee Crowe) for 49 years; loving father of Christopher (Suzanne), Robert and Teresa (Thomas) Devine IV; adoring grandfather “Papa Joe” of Carson and Simon Barr and Karlie Devine; dear brother to James Barr, Mary (Donald) Elliott, Patricia (Ronald) Fulks, and Janet (Steve) Hoelscher. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Louise (nee Dahm) and Joseph James Barr of Wood River, Illinois.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in-law, and a dear friend to all who knew him. He will forever be remembered for his generous spirit, always willing to lend a hand to help someone in need.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to BJC Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they provided.

Services: Visitation will be held at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 4900 Ringer Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129, Thurs. Nov. 21, 10 a.m. until Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name for Masses or the charity of your choice.   2. My prayers are with your entire family. Joe was a fun loving guy and we always enjoyed our times with him, whether just talking, watching the Rams play, Superbowl parties, eating out at restaurants and many, many New Years Eve celebrations! He was a treasure and will be missed by all of us. Share all those memories with those grandkids as that is his legacy of love for you all.
