Elaine Anne Bauer (nee Otten) was called back to God on December 29, at age 78 surrounded by family until the end.  She is the beloved daughter of the late Glenn and Virginia (Rogles) Otten; wife of Gerard; mother of Michael (Sharon), Mark (Laura) and the late Michelle Nickel (Don); devoted grandmother of Mick (Emily), Lucy,  Joe, Cecilia, Brad, Anna, Matt, Dan & Kate; dear sister of the late Bud Otten, Jean (Jim) Timmermann, Jan Dunham, and Bernie (Jeannie) Otten; dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend.

Elaine was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.  She spent most of her childhood in Dellwood, MO, attended high school at Corpus Christi and college at Fontbonne & SIUE.  Upon getting married to Gerard, the newlyweds moved to Florissant where they lived in three different houses over the next 49 years.  The last 10 years have been spent in South St. Louis County to be closer to many of their grandchildren.  Gerard and Elaine have been married for 59 years.

Elaine lived a life dedicated to others; her commitment to family was the core of her being.  She spent thousands of hours creating and viewing her cherished photo albums, which captured her precious memories.  Her love for travel took her to all 50 states enjoying wineries, cruises and bed & breakfasts along the journey.  Elaine leaves behind a legacy of selflessness, a fervent passion for travel, and an enduring love for her family, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
