Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday, Dec 1st, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Manuel P. “Tata” Bautista; loving mother of Bridie Jean (Tony) Stieren; cherished Nana of Megan Elizabeth (Jim) Halbert, Brian Anthony Stieren and Joshua Manuel (Alex) Stieren; our dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Elizabeth was born on January 4th, 1928 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and was the sixth child of nine siblings. She attended Chinese General Hospital School of Nursing before establishing her residency in St. Louis, Missouri in 1953. Elizabeth celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage with Manuel Bautista before he passed away in 2006. Elizabeth worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital and retired as the head nurse of labor and delivery at age 55 to help raise her 3 beloved grandchildren.
Elizabeth is known to be very frugal, yet her frugality led to her abundant generosity of helping several family members with schooling and sponsoring many to establish a new life in the United States. Everyone loved when “Nana” would make a large tray of pancit, a favorite Filipino dish, for a party.
Elizabeth’s family would like to thank the staff at Nazareth Living Center for their care and love she received; all while making many friends along the way. The family would also like to thank the many nieces, nephews and friends for the love and support throughout her life.
Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd on Saturday, Dec 9, 9:30 a.m. to Assumption Catholic Church (Mattis Rd.) for 10 a.m. mass. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart/American Stroke Association are appreciated. Visitation, Friday 4-8 p.m.
May the good Lord and His mother keep you in their warm embrace. We will always remember her as the kind and helpful friend , especially when our children were growing up.
