In Loving Memory

Bayer, Vida M.

October 5, 1935 - August 7, 2025

Vida M. Bayer born October 5, 1935 in St. Louis, MO was sent to her eternal home on August 7, 2025 resting peacefully at her daughters home.

Vida was affectionately known as the matriarch of her family. She was  considered a second mother to her nieces and nephews and also to many of her daughter’s friends.

She was a proud breast cancer survivor which poured over into her passion of sending thoughtful cards to many, whether it be in celebration, difficult times or get well wishes. She always wanted to lift the spirits of others. Her love and loyal friendship to countless people was a top priority in her life. Going out to breakfast or lunch with the girls was a constant in her life.

Vida was a proud employee at Anheuser Busch for 28 years.

After retirement her journey was one marked by love, compassion and her unwavering faith in God which carried on as a “Lady of Charity “ at St. Vincent de Paul church. Giving so much of her time helping others, from the homeless or to the elderly, she touched many lives in her Charity work.

Her closest companion was her dog Rocky. They loved to watch John Wayne movies all day long and snuggle on the chase in her sun room. She would take him for car rides over to JB park to watch the deer because “he loved that” she would say.  She had three granddogs Bella, Kiki and Blue who she loved dearly.

Vida is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Bayer Scott, Cynthia Bayer and her beloved son in law Brian Knapp.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, her mother Carmen Huerta, her sister Ann Santa Cruz, her brothers Jess  Mosquida and Freddie Mosquida

Family and friends are invited to a mass honoring Vida with a light lunch afterwards at St Vincent de Paul church,1408 S 10th St Louis, MO 63104 on October 11, 2025 at 12pm
