Randy Beckmann

In Loving Memory

Beckmann, Edward Randolph “Randy”

November 21, 1941 - January 16, 2026

At peace with God on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Randy was the beloved husband of Leah T. Beckmann (nee: Noel); dear father of Randolph “Buddy” (Sue Hehr) Beckmann and Daniel Kurt Beckmann and loving grandfather of Alexis, Tessem and Hunter Edward Beckmann.  He was also the dear brother of Barry Philip (Catherine) Beckmann, Kim Ralston and Jan (the late Joe) Ferrainola; dear brother-in-law, uncle cousin and friend.

Randy passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. His sudden passing from a heart attack leaves a wide swath of stunned and grieving family, friends and colleagues.

Randy worked in the chemical industry for 50 years and retired at the age of 78. Most of his career was at Archway Sales where he made significant contributions to the growth and success of the company.  He was continuously fascinated with the business side of the chemical industry but more importantly, Randy loved the people he came into contact with over the years.

Those who knew him know that Randy wasn’t all work. Besides his family, his true passion was horse racing. He traveled to races all over the country and even had plans to go the Preakness in May. Racing not only challenged his mind but also gave him many treasured friendships. He loved most sports but especially the St. Louis Cardinals and was a season ticket holder for 42 years.

Of all his passions in life, it was his family that gave him the most joy. His two sons, Danny and Buddy had loving and dear relationships with their father. With Buddy, he shared a passion for racing and sports. With Danny, he enjoyed discussing business, finance and being a dad. Randy also cherished his time with his grandchildren, Hunter, Alexis and Tessem. Leah, his wife of 45 years, was the love of his life.

Randy was an endlessly curious and caring friend who saw the best in people. His warm and infectious smile drew you in while the twinkle in his eye made you wonder what bit of mischief he might be up to next.  Randy had a good life and his passing has left friends and family stunned and saddened. He will be missed by many.

SERVICES: Visitation will be at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Friday, February 6 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral at 12:00 Noon. Private burial at Bellefontaine Cemetery.

The Beckmann family will host a gathering from 4 pm to 6 pm at FAROTTO’S RESTAURANT (9525 Manchester Road, 63119) in celebration of Randy’s life and appreciation for the community of family and friends he cherished.

Memorials to Holiday House are appreciated.

Condolences

  1. I came upon this by accident but I believe Randy was a good friend of Tom Fitzgerald. Was a customer at SchmieZings. I went to a 1982 World Series game with him and Tom. Saw him a few years back at Spring Training game in Jupiter. I could tell you some stories! May his Memory be Eternal!

  2. Leah, so sorry to hear this sad news. Randy came over to check on me a week before Christmas. We Chatted for a couple of hours and it was great to see him. I owe a lot to him. He brought me to StL and he taught me so much about people, business and sales. He and Denny looked out for me like a dad. I will miss him a lot. He was the best.

  3. To Randy’s family,

I send my deep condolences to you all. Randy was a really special gem of a person: big-hearted, a deep thinker, a mentor, hardworking, and a troublemaker (in the best way!). I had the fortune of working with Randy at Nexeo Solutions. He was a treasure of experience, stories, advice, and support. My prime example of his big heart: when my husband died unexpectedly, Randy flew to Houston to attend the funeral, which was the day before Thanksgiving. It was such a great example of strong and tender support. It meant a lot to me. An amazing, generous gesture. May his legacy of kindness and generosity live on with all of you.

  6. Leah, Peggy and I are holding you close in our hearts. For more than fifty years, we’ve cherished the friendship we shared with both of you — the laughter, the stories, the travels, and the countless moments that became part of our lives. Randy was a remarkable man, “the best” friend in the world and we feel grateful for every memory we were lucky enough to share with him. Please know that you are not facing this loss alone. We are here for you, with love, support, and the same friendship that has connected us for so many years.”
