Harriet Joan Beitel nee Johnston of St. Louis, MO – Beloved wife of the late Robert Beitel, dear sister of Elmer Johnston, the late Ermal Johnston, Doug Johnston, Sandra Reynolds nee Johnston, adoring aunt of Tammy Johnston, Tina Dick, the late Terry Johnston, Wayne Johnston, Kevin Johnston, the late Gayla Johnston, Cortney Johnston, Shaun Johnston, Morgan (Jeffrey) Dunkle nee Reynolds, Jessica (Duminda) Gunawardena nee Reynolds, wonderful stepmother to Anne Beitel, Tom Beitel, Chuck Beitel, and James Beitel, beloved relative to spouses, numerous extended family and friend to many.

Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive relatives and friends for a 10:30 a.m. memorial service on Monday October 21st at St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Crestwood, MO at 11735 Denny Road with Minister Merrimon Boyd officiating.  A brief gathering at the church cemetery will follow.

  2. Joan will be greatly missed she was a wonderful wife to my Dad for many years and we all enjoyed her company and friendship throughout their marriage.

  3. A smart and independent lady, supportive wife to my dad Bob in their marriage of almost 29 years, and busy Meemaw to 10 grandchildren located in far-flung locales. They did a lot of traveling and hosting for a lot of years. Even in the frailty of her old age, she had great, sassy wit and could be such a hoot to talk to. Nothing got by her! She is now at peace. We will miss her very much.
