Gloria loved singing, whether for weddings, funerals or just for enjoyment. She sang and performed in Webster and Kirkwood community theaters, was in local commercials, performed at the Muny and with the Missouri Concert Ballet. Gloria was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church for many years. While at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, she met her husband Gerald Bender as members of the Walther League. Gloria loved going to jazz club at the Columbia City Saloon, Jeanette McDonald and Nelson Eddy and always enjoyed a Southern Comfort Manhattan. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

I always enjoyed watching Gloria’s performances. She was always kind and friendly to me growing up with her daughter, Laurie.
So happy she has gone to see Jesus where she can sing, dance and perform.
Laurie, my deepest condolences to you and your family.
Gloria was such a great gal, I am so blessed to have know her. We enjoyed many evenings at the Saloon singing together. She was alway so much fun and such a bright light and she was very funny!
Rest easy Gloria, you will surely be missed.
Love and prayers for peace to your family. In every memory I have of her, she is absolutely larger than life.
Thinking of you missing your Mom, Laurie. Glo passed away only 4 days from your birthday. She was always fun and had a good time. All the Franceschi’s loved her dearly. Love to the Quinn Family.
Gloria was a dear special friend. We enjoyed our time with her and Jerry. She got Lou singing in Laurie’s school patrons musicals while in Seminary. Wonderful memories.
A beautiful lady and friend of so many people. And a wonderful singer. Although I had not seen her in awhile her picture immediately reminded me of God’s lovely people.
