  4. To our dear friend Sarah,

I hope you know how many lives you touched. How many people you’ve come across that you’ve given hope to. How many will now not take life for granted, because it can be ripped away so suddenly.

Your world was your family. Your loving husband. Your 2 beautiful children. And of course, your 3 pups. Your spirit will live on within them forever. Within all of us that were fortunate enough to cross paths with you.

We’ll forever know you as a warrior. An inspiration to so many – no matter if we just recently met you or knew you since you were a child. We’re all better people to have known you. We will always remember our beautiful friend, Sarah Bender. We love you.

  18. I had the privilege and honor of meeting and knowing Sarah when I went to Oak Brook Elementary. She was kind-hearted to everyone and made others laugh and smile, just as much as she did. Sarah was friendly to everyone she met and knew. I just learned of this tragic news and wanted to give prayers and condolences to not only her 2 children and her husband, but to her extended family and everyone else’s lives that she touched. She was a special person and she will be missed.

Love and prayers from your classmate,

  21. This is Wm. Hegger, Uncle to Sarah. Sarah’s Dad’s oldest Brother. Living in Seattle, I met Sarah once when she was about 18. What a happy, joyful girl, I can only imagine from what I hear, that she was just a wonderful, person, wife, and Mom. While we are saddened by her passing, we know she is in a better place in heaven now. God Bless you Sarah!!

  22. Richard Hegger here, slightly older brother yet probably closest to Dan & Vickie as I reside in St L. I mostly recall Sarah & her sister Dawn as younger children. Boy how time cruises by? They grew up in a loving, caring family atmosphere which carries forward to their own families! Always joyful, smiles, warm engagement. God only takes the Best! She is in the arms of her Heavenly Father now to watch over her family and children.
