Sharon Ann Bender, born on November 20, 1950, in Saint Louis, MO, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 3, 2024, in her hometown. Although she was a secretary later in life, her calling was raising her family, which she cherished above all else.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Joseph, and their four children: Joy, Anthony, Matthew, and Joshua. Sharon also leaves behind her sister, Janet, who she shared many fond memories with. She was the proudest of grandmothers to Nathan, Max, Claire, James, William, Elliott, and most recently Olive. Each held a special place in her heart.
During her leisure time, Sharon enjoyed gardening, cats, and quilting. Her countless quilts gave joy and warmth to her family and friends. She was known for her sense of humor, which brought laughter to those around her even in her final days. Sharon’s loving and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who know her.
Sharon wishes for anyone who received a quilt from her to bring it to the visitation to share with all.

Beautiful picture, beautiful tribute and most importantly beautiful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. Condolences to Joe, Joy, Tony, Matthew and Joshua and family❤️
Josh, you and your family are in our prayers during this difficult time. Big hugs to you guys. We’re praying God gives you peace and understanding. 🫶🏼
Sharon left us as she was in life – a peaceful person. I will miss all our bike rides and visits to state parks. Your creativity was endless. This world is a better and more beautiful place because of you! I will keep you in my heart forever. Love you Sharon and miss you more…
Sharon was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I didn’t have the opportunity to know her for very long, but she definitely left her impact on me. My condolences to the whole family. Heaven gained such a sweet angel. 🤍
Joe and kids, We wish we were there to support you but just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sharon will definitely be missed. We will catch up with you when we are back in the country.
Beautiful woman. Kind to all, smiling, laughing, generous of spirit, surrogate Mom to lots of scouts. Deepest sympathy to the Bender Family.

Sharon was a great friend. Remember our garage sale times before Matt and Keith started grade school. Also remember our times being co-leaders with cub scouts. So thankful that Matt and Keith are still best friends. It was so great of her making a quilt for Keith’s kids after Alison died. Remember our sharing our vacation memories. I could go on and on, but you get the idea that Sharon was a great person. She is now being shared with Jesus.
I remember Sharon. I worked at Meramec until 2013 in Career and Employment Service and would have to enlist the assistance of Sharon for scheduling classroom presentations with faculty. She was always very sweet and met you with a smile.
