Bessinger

In Loving Memory

Bessinger, Kent Michael

August 28, 1957 - May 13, 2026

Kent M. Bessinger, age 68, passed away in 2026 from heart disease, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, service, and family.

Above all, Kent was a devoted father to his three sons—Logan, Grant, and Daniel—who were the center of his life and his greatest pride.

A retired firefighter with the Mid-County Fire Protection District and a proud Eagle Scout, Kent dedicated his life to helping others and serving his community with courage and compassion. Even in passing, he continued that legacy as an organ donor, offering the gift of life to others. His commitment to service reflected both his strength of character and his deep sense of responsibility toward those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Patricia (née Andrews) Bessinger. Kent is survived by his loving siblings: Candace (Mike) Farrington, Craig (Teri) Bessinger, and Angie (Mike) Abfall, along with extended family and friends who will miss him greatly.

Kent will be remembered for his dedication to family, his lifelong service to others, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.

SERVICES:   A Celebration of Kent’s Life will be held later this summer or early fall, details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The BackStoppers, Inc. at https://backstoppers.org/donate or by mail to P.O. Box 795168, St. Louis, MO 63179-0700.

  1. Kent was a great friend and I loved him dearly. We enjoyed many mischievous moments together in high school and through our young adulthood. Although we didn’t see each other much in the last couple of decades, the philia was always present.
    Rest In Peace, my friend.

  5. Nothing but fond memories of a high school buddy who was a kind soul,. Always willing to help with any camera issues, and a legendary wheel man who safely guided us across the Rocky Mountains in a raging blizzard. Rest in peace my friend.
