Blunt, Larry Raymond

Larry Raymond Blunt , age 71, of Florissant MO, passed away on February 17, 2022, at Christian NE Hospital in St Louis, MO. Larry retired from Lucent Technologies as an IT Manager and served in the US Navy as a torpedo man with USS Snook (SSN-592) from 1969-1974.  Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid reader and loved to cook.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, leaving many good memories.

Larry was born November 29, 1950, to Raymond and Betty Blunt (Johnson) in Poplar Bluff, MO.   Larry is survived by two children: William Raymond Blunt of Las Vegas, NV and Rebecca  Joan (James) Clayton  of Republic , MO, his first wife Kathryn Clark(mother of William Blunt and Rebecca Clayton),  two sisters Pam (Mike) Dorn of Barnhart, MO and Patty (Spencer) Shain of Poplar Bluff, MO,  two grandchildren, Jack Doyle Clayton and Lilly Katherine Clayton of Republic, MO, his beloved companion Linda Schroeder, and numerous family members and dear friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Betty Blunt, and his second wife Dorothy Kay Blunt (Rohrick).

A memorial service will be held March 5 2:00 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO 63123.

  1. I was on the crew of USS SNOOK SSN-592 from 1979-1983. Served aboard the same Nuclear Fast Attack Submarine as he. Sir, Rest your oar, we have the watch.
