Rex Lee Boaz age 88, Friday, September 25, 2026
Rex proudly served in the military and later dedicated 37 years of his career to Lutheran Medical Center, where he worked as a Biomedical Engineering Supervisor.
Rex was a man who could build or repair just about anything. He was always willing to lend a hand and help his family whenever they needed him. His greatest pride, however, was his family. He was a wonderful father who loved his children deeply and was always there for them.
Rex also enjoyed fast-pitch softball and was proud of his place in the Hall of Fame. He will be remembered for his strength, his willingness to help others, his many talents, and most of all, the love he had for his family.
Rex is survived by his wife, Naomi; his children, Gary (Debbie), Debbie Hanson (Mark), and Michele; and his grandchildren, Madison, Karen, and Steven, along with other loving family members and friends.
Rex will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his family and all the lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
Services: Funeral at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road Wednesday, October 7, 2026, 10:30am. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, Oct. 6, 5-8pm.
I will always remember Mr. Boaz. He was a natural athlete who was incredibly patient with us kids. Way back in 1976, when I was young, just starting and somewhat intimidated on the basketball court, he helped me find my confidence. I still remember him giving me tips on playing the post position and using my strengths during a practice with Gary at the Alexian Brothers hospital gym.
Mr. Boaz was a devoted husband and father to say the least – always cheering us on at our games (and giving me how many rides Gary:) I deeply regret losing touch with him after high school, but life moved so quickly as Gary, David, and the rest of the team transitioned into our next life chapters. I thank the Lord for men like Mr. Boaz. — Rest in peace, Sir.
