Betty Bognar was born on April 30, 1933 in Truman, Arkansas to Dall and Elizabeth (née Pritchard) Sloan. The family relocated to St. Louis in 1934 where she remained until retiring to Destin, Florida. After the passing of her husband Joe she was relocated to Tennessee near her son Don and his family where she passed away while living in a care facility on December 2, 2024 at the age of 91.
Betty was the loving wife of Joseph Bognar, the dear mother of Donald (Anna) Wayne Strong, Dennis Wayne Strong, and Douglas Steven Strong. Sister of Evelyn Mulherin, Patsy Jean (John) Bowers, Howard Wayne (Diane) Sloane, Joan (Fran) Hawkins, and Lois (Rich) Garcia. Grandmother of Jennifer Strong, Drake Strong, Sarah Strong, Susan Strong, Dasha Strong-Jones, Angie Strong, and Douglas Strong, Jr. Great grandmother of Dustin Strong, Donnie Strong, Kayla Partney, Sophia Horn, Ezra Horn, Adela Horn, Gracie Gates and Abby Strong.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, sister Evelyn, sons Donald and Dennis, grandchildren Dustin and Angie.
Betty dearly loved her family, and she lived a fearless life of ingenuity. She worked tirelessly as the creator and owner of several businesses, and she never gave up on those she loved.
SERVICES: A MEMORIAL VISITATION AND SERVICE will be held on Friday, September 5 from 10:30 a.m. till time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd.
She will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near her departed husband Joe and her late son Dennis.
