Larry G. Bosch
April 12, 1948 – October 1, 2026.
Larry Gordon Bosch, 78, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, on October 1, 2026. Born on April 12, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Larry was the son of the late John and Audrey Bosch. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Bosch, and is survived by his brother, Richard Bosch. He lived a full life marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his community.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years in the Artillery Division and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He went on to earn his degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where his love for the Mizzou Tigers took root and stayed with him the rest of his life.
He went on to build a long career with Safeco Insurance Company, working as a surety bonds manager where he was known for his integrity and steady dedication to his work.
Larry was a devoted and active member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, where he served in several officer positions over the years, giving generously of his time and leadership to his congregation.
Above all, Larry was a family man. He loved nothing more than coaching his children’s sports teams and, in later years, cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines at their games. He enjoyed golfing, spending time at the lake and never missed a chance to talk fantasy football. Larry also enjoyed beloved Mizzou Tigers and you could often catch him at a St. Louis Cardinals game with family or friends. He had a deep love of travel, and was rarely without his camera, capturing photographs of every place he visited to share and relive those memories with the people he loved. He enjoyed music as well, and could often be found playing the piano in the family room.
Larry was known for his outgoing personality — he never met a stranger, and he had a gift for striking up conversation with anyone. He brought humor into every exchange, and his warmth and wit made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Bosch; his four children, Tom (Cindy) Glaub, Tammy Placke, Aaron (Jocelyn) Bosch, and Aimee (Dan) Mueller; and his ten grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Larry will be remembered for his warmth, his loyalty, and the love he poured into his family, his church, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
There will be an open visitation on Wednesday, October 7 from 4:00-8:00pm at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Funeral service will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 8 at 9:00am, with interment at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
